Bobbie was born September 24, 1943, in Clovis, New Mexico to William Henry and Mary Lucille (Culwell) Burns. She was one of fourteen children. Bobbie received her education in Clovis and then married her childhood sweetheart, Van D. Harpold, on May 4, 1959, in Friona, Texas. Bobbie and Van would have three sons: Ivan, Elmer, and Van Jr. “Harry”.
Bobbie worked side by side with Van. Driving the potato truck, hauling corn, or helping work cattle, she was a dedicated helping hand. Bobbie stayed busy working but always ensured her boys were cared for and well-fed. She later went to work at Banner County Schools as a custodian. She enjoyed working around the kids and made many friends.
She moved to Scottsbluff upon retirement to be closer to her family, especially her grandchildren. Bobbie loved going to their school events and having them stop in to see her. She liked going out to eat with her many friends and looked forward to their phone calls. No matter what, she always had time to visit with her family and friends. Her infectious laugh was heard often.
Survivors include her sons, Elmer (Jodi) Harpold and Harry Harpold; daughter-in-law, Connie Harpold; grandchildren, Nick and Cameron Harpold, Jami and Darren Harpold, and Vanessa and Breanna Harpold; great-grandchildren, McKenna, Clair, Brittlyn, and Draylon Harpold, and Luke Bartles; sister, Gaytha (Richard) Sandell; sister-in-law, Beverly (Loren) Fulford; along with other extended family members and friends.
