Bruce was born on December 21, 1943, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Llyod Arthur and Florence Eleanor (Fredrickson) Daniels. Bruce’s family moved to Spanish Fork, Utah where he graduated from Spanish Fork High School in 1962. Bruce then attended the University of Utah.
Bruce married his high school sweetheart, Judy Ainge, on May 26, 1962, in Spanish Fork. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple in 1975. Their marriage produced four beautiful children: Kimberly, Sydney, Kelly and Lindsey.
Bruce worked for the Utah Department of Corrections for 22 years and then he took an early retirement. After retiring from Utah corrections, he accepted a position as Warden of the Wyoming Women's Center, a position which had to be appointed by the Governor of Wyoming. He worked there for five years and then was appointed as the director of the Division of Institutions for three years before retiring once again. It was in his retirement he bought and operated his farm in Mitchell, Nebraska with his wife, Judy.
Bruce was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints his entire life. Some of his favorite pastimes were tinkering around the barn and his shop doing odd projects, working the earth on his farm, digging out weeds and cultivating his gardens and flower beds, and most importantly, spending many tender moments with his grandkids.
