Celia María Montes, de 93 años, de Scottsbluff, Nebraska, falleció el martes 27 de agosto de 2024 en la comodidad de su hogar rodeada de su amorosa familia. Se llevará a cabo una Misa de Entierro Cristiano a las 10:30 a.m., el sábado 7 de septiembre de 2024, en la Iglesia Católica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en Scottsbluff, Nebraska, con el Padre Joseph Thambi como celebrante. El entierro se llevará a cabo en el Cementerio Pantion San José en San José de Babicora, Chih. México. El velatorio se llevará a cabo de 5 p.m. a 7 p.m., el viernes 6 de septiembre de 2024, en Reverence Funeral Parlor en Scottsbluff con un rosario a partir de las 7 p.m. La misa será transmitida en vivo y grabada en la página del obituario de Celia que se puede ver en www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Celia nació el 17 de noviembre de 1930 en Temosachic, Chih. México, a Reyes y Guadalupe (Díaz) Montes. 

Celia se unió en matrimonio con Agapito Enríquez Jáquez en 1950. Se convirtió en la orgullosa madre de once hijos y era una ama de casa dedicada. La familia se mudó a Scottsbluff en 1992. 

Celia cultivaba cada año un abundante jardín que alimentaba a su numerosa familia. Trabajó duro enlatando, horneando y cocinando, agregando amor a todo lo que servía. Celia aprendió a hacer ganchillo y a coser, lo que le permitió remendar ropa, crear belleza y disfrutar de un pasatiempo tranquilo. Le gustaba ver telenovelas, escuchar música y rezar en paz. Sus nietos y bisnietos fueron la luz de su vida.

Uno de sus momentos de mayor orgullo fue convertirse en ciudadana estadounidense. Era miembro de la Iglesia Católica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Celia será recordada con cariño como divertida, cariñosa y cariñosa.

Entre los sobrevivientes se encuentran sus hijos, David (Marci) Enríquez, Reynaldo (Jenny) Enríquez, José R. (Estella) Enríquez, Ramón (Marta) Enríquez, Rosa (Armando) Esparza, Albert Enríquez, Elías (Sandra) Enríquez y Eva Enríquez, quien era su nieta biológica, pero criada como su hija; yerno, José García; muchos nietos y bisnietos; junto con innumerables familiares y amigos.

A Celia le precedieron en la muerte sus padres, Reyes y Guadalupe Montes; esposo, Agapito Enríquez Jáquez; hijo, Eloy Enríquez; y sus hijas, Evadina y Teresa Enríquez, y Elsa Enríquez de García. 

Celia Maria Montes, age 93, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska, passed away Tuesday, August 27, 2024, in the comfort of her home surrounded by her loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Scottsbluff, Nebraska with Fr. Joseph Thambi as Celebrant. Burial will occur at Pantion San Jose Cemetery in San Jose de Babicora, Chih. Mexico. Viewing will be held from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., Friday, September 6, 2024, at Reverence Funeral Parlor in Scottsbluff with a Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. The Mass will be live-streamed and recorded to Celia’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.

Celia was born November 17, 1930, in Temosachic, Chih. Mexico, to Reyes and Guadalupe (Diaz) Montes. 

Celia was united in marriage to Agapito Enriquez Jaquez in 1950. She became the proud mother of eleven children and was a dedicated homemaker. The family moved to Scottsbluff in 1992. 

Celia raised a bountiful garden each year which nourished her large family. She worked hard canning, baking, and cooking, adding love into everything she served. Celia learned crochet and stitching, allowing her to mend clothes, create beauty, and enjoy a quiet hobby. She liked watching soap operas, listening to music, and praying peacefully. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the light of her life.

One of her proudest moments was becoming a US citizen. She was member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Celia will be fondly remembered as funny, caring, and loving.

Survivors include her children, David (Marci) Enriquez, Reynaldo (Jenny) Enriquez, Jose R. (Estella) Enriquez, Ramon (Marta) Enriquez, Rosa (Armando) Esparza, Albert Enriquez, Elias (Sandra) Enriquez, and Eva Enriquez, who was her biological granddaughter-but raised as her daughter; son-in-law, Jose Garcia; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with countless extended family members and friends.

Celia was preceded in death by her parents, Reyes and Guadalupe Montes; husband, Agapito Enríquez Jáquez; son, Eloy Enriquez; and daughters, Evadina and Theresa Enriquez, and Elsa Enriquez de Garcia.
