Dewayne Cary

July 31, 1957 — November 3, 2022

This old cowboy took his last ride November 3, 2022, in Alliance, Nebraska, with his special niece, Mariah Brady, nephew-in-law, Jason Butler, his great niece, Caleigh Brady and her children, Ava and Sage Poor Bear, as his side.  Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes and a service will be held at a later date. Dewayne Odell Cary began his ride of life in Sargent, Nebraska where he was born to Phyllis Joann Robinette and Wayne Odell Cary on July 31, 1957, with his twin brother, Wayne Owen Cary Sr.

He entered the United States Army in 1976 and his service ended in 1978.

Uncle Dewayne had many jobs, but the one he was most passionate about was truck driving.  He worked for various carriers in eastern Nebraska.

Survivors include his daughter, Heather Vargas; granddaughters, Hayley and Christel Schueller; grandson, Clark Schueller Jr.; special niece and nephew-in-law, Mariah Brady and Jason Butler; special great nieces, Keaira Hefley, Caleigh Brady and her children, Ava and Sage Poor Bear, and Phoenix Butler; great nephew, Isaiah Kelsey; adopted nephew, Gary Vannatter Jr.; siblings, Valetta “Jean” (Bob) Jenssen Reissen, Vanetta “Snooks” (Dale Sr.) Graae, Rae (Jason) Tiessen, Allan (Cathy) Cary, and Glen (Auy) Cary; nieces and their families, Salesia (Greg Ernesti) Books, Kendra (Brad) Walker, Barb (Tyler) Wilkinson, and Kylie (Curtis) Warren; nephews and their families, Josh (Jennifer) Deitloff, Chris (Ashley) Squire, Owen (Pauline) Cary, Zac (Megan) Olivarez, Wayne (Jamie) Pollock, and Dale Jr. (Sonja) Graae; special love of his life, Julie Cary; close friend, Cam Seigel; along with countless other family members and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Odell Cary; mother, Phyllis Joann Robinette White; step-father, Everett Eugene White; brother, Wayne Owen Cary Sr.; and grandparents, Mark and Berniece Robinette.
