Dorothy Irene Ruppel, age 97, of Scottsbluff, died Thursday, December 15, 2022, at Monument Rehab and Care in Scottsbluff. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday, December 20, 2022, at Reverence Funeral Parlor in Scottsbluff with Pastor Andrew Griess officiating. Viewing will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Gering American Legion Post 36, in honor of Dorothy’s six brothers who served in the United States military. The service will be livestreamed and recorded to Dorothy’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.
Dorothy was born July 25, 1925, in Lincoln, Nebraska to John and Amelia (Litt) Nagel.
She married Victor Ruppel on November 28, 1969. She was a hard-working and dedicated farm wife, assisting with all aspects of the farming operation. Dorothy was also employed at First State Bank from where she retired after 37 years.
She was a faithful member of Zion Evangelical Church.
Survivors include her brothers, Allen (Cathy) of San Pablo, CA and Murray (Teresa) of Vancouver, WA; sisters, Sharon Kreiling of St. Louis, MO and Carol Worth of Scottsbluff; along with nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Victor; brothers, Everett, Calvin, Raymond, and Marvin; and sisters, Darlene Thompson, Judy Nagel, and Linda Johnson Nagel.
