Elsa Velia Enriquez de Garcia

Elsa Velia Enríquez de García, de 55 años, de Gering, Nebraska, falleció el sábado 25 de mayo de 2024 en el Centro Médico Regional West en Scottsbluff, Nebraska, rodeada de su amada familia. Se rezará un Rosario a partir de las 12 p.m., el viernes 31 de mayo de 2024, en la Iglesia Católica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe en Scottsbluff. Inmediatamente después se celebrará la Misa de Entierro Cristiano con el P. Joseph Thambi como celebrante. El entierro se lleva a cabo justo después en el cementerio Fairview en Scottsbluff. El velatorio se llevará a cabo de 9 a.m. a 11:30 a.m., el viernes 31 de mayo de 2024, en Reverence Funeral Parlor en Scottsbluff. Se pueden hacer memoriales en honor de Elsa en St. Jude's. Elsa nació el 24 de diciembre de 1968 en Gómez Farías, Chihuahua, México, hija de Agapito y Celia (Montes) Enríquez. Creció en Babicora, Chihuahua, México, asistiendo a la escuela hasta sexto grado. Su familia se mudó a los Estados Unidos en agosto de 1993. Residió en Lexington, Nebraska desde 1994 hasta 1998. Scottsbluff/Gering se convirtió en su hogar en 1998 y permaneció allí hasta su fallecimiento.

Se convirtió en la orgullosa madre de dos hijos, Joel y Wenser. Más tarde, Elsa conoció a su alma gemela y compañero, José Isabel García Zamora, en 2009. La pareja se casó en 2021 en la iglesia católica de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe. Elsa era una ama de casa devota y muy atenta a las necesidades de su familia. Se ganó la vida limpiando meticulosamente casas durante toda su vida.

Le gustaba la música, bailar y hacer reír a los demás. Elsa siempre puso a los demás antes que a sí misma. Participó activamente en la comunidad y dio lo que pudo ayudando como y cuando pudo. Los momentos de mayor orgullo de su vida fueron convertirse en residente permanente de los Estados Unidos, casarse con José y los felices nacimientos de sus hijos y su amado nieto.

Entre los sobrevivientes se encuentran su madre, Celia Montes; esposo, José García; hijos, Joel García (Deanna Zambrano) y Wenser Enríquez (Octavia Hernandez); nieto, Armani Enríquez; hermanos, David (Marcie) Enríquez, Rey (Jenny) Enríquez, José R. (Stella) Enríquez, Ramón (Martha) Enríquez, Rosa (Armando) Esparza, Albert Enríquez, Elías (Sandra) Enríquez y Eva Enríquez, quien era su tía biológica, pero criada como su hermana; suegro y suegra, Enriquez Garcia and Anastasia Zamora; junto con innumerables sobrinas, sobrinos, familiares y amigos.

Elsa fue precedida en la muerte por su padre, Agapito Enríquez; hermano, Eloy Enríquez; y las hermanas, Evadina y Theresa Enríquez. 

Elsa Velia Enriquez de Garcia, age 55, of Gering, Nebraska, passed away Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska surrounded by her loving family. A Rosary will be recited beginning at 12 p.m., Friday, May 31, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Scottsbluff. The Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow with Fr. Joseph Thambi as celebrant. Burial will take place right after at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. Viewing will be held from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., Friday, May 31, 2024, at Reverence Funeral Parlor in Scottsbluff. Memorials in Elsa’s honor may be made to St. Jude’s. Elsa was born December 24, 1968, in Gomez Farias, Chihuahua, Mexico to Agapito and Celia (Montes) Enriquez. She grew up in Babicora, Chihuahua, Mexico, attending school through sixth grade. Her family moved to the US in August of 1993. She resided in Lexington, Nebraska from 1994 until 1998. Scottsbluff/Gering became her home in 1998 and she remained there until her passing.

She became the proud mother of two sons, Joel and Wenser. Elsa later met her soulmate and companion, Jose Isabel Garcia Zamora, in 2009. The couple married in 2021 at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Elsa was a devoted homemaker and very attentive to the needs of her family. She made a living meticulously cleaning homes throughout her life.

She enjoyed music, dancing, and making others laugh. Elsa always put others before herself. She was actively involved in the community and gave how she was able by helping however and whenever she could. The proudest moments of her lifetime were becoming a permanent resident of the US, marrying Jose, and the joyful births of her sons, and beloved grandson.

Survivors include her mother, Celia Montes; husband, Jose Garcia; sons, Joel Garcia (Deanna Zambrano) and Wenser Enriquez (Octavia Hernandez); grandson, Armani Enriquez; siblings, David (Marcie) Enriquez, Rey (Jenny) Enriquez, Jose R. (Stella) Enriquez, Ramon (Martha) Enriquez, Rosa (Armando) Esparza, Albert Enriquez, Elias (Sandra) Enriquez, and Eva Enriquez, who was her biological aunt-but raised as her sister; in-laws, Enriquez Garcia and Anastasia Zamora; along with countless nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Elsa was preceded in death by her father, Agapito Enriquez; brother, Eloy Enriquez; and sisters, Evadina and Theresa Enriquez.
