Johann Grobler, age 46, of Bayard, Nebraska, departed this world due to natural causes on Sunday, April 6, 2025, near Minatare, Nebraska. A celebration of his life will take place beginning at 2 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at The Pink Palace in McGrew, Nebraska. Friends are invited to gather and honor his memory. Online condolences can be expressed on Johann’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.
Johann was born on May 26, 1978, in Heidelberg, South Africa, to parents Johan and Hanny Grobler. He completed his high school education at Vereeniging High School and embarked on studies in civil engineering. However, his deep-rooted passion for farming led him back to his family's agricultural heritage in Grootvlei, South Africa. As political conditions deteriorated and began to impact South African farmers, Johann made the decision to relocate to the United States. Since 2020, he was employed by Nick and Amanda Kepler of Bridgeport, where he found fulfillment in his work and enjoyed a supportive relationship with his employers.
On September 5, 2015, Johann married Thea (Visser) Grobler, and in May 2021, they made their home in McGrew, Nebraska.
Though Johann was not one for many words, he had a remarkable ability to draw people to him, earning the love and admiration of many. He was a simple, minimalistic man, but loved his truck, family, and wife with his whole being.
Johann is survived by his wife, Thea Grobler; his parents, Johan and Hanny Grobler; his siblings, Lala, Christie, and Corne Grobler; his children, Phillip, Dian, Bella, and Kine; and his cherished grandchildren, Emma, Dawid, Luna, Liam, and Juan-Johann. He also leaves behind extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
