Marcelino Hernandez

Marcelino Hernandez Jr., 54, of Mitchell, passed away Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.  A funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Monday, May 10, 2021 at Reverence Funeral Parlor in Scottsbluff with Fr. Mike McDonald as celebrant.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery near Morrill.  Visitation will be held 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., Sunday, May 9, 2021 at Reverence Funeral Parlor.  A rosary will begin at 6 p.m. Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Marcelino was born October 25, 1966 to Linda Erickson and Marcelino Hernandez in Los Angeles, California.

He moved to Scottsbluff in 2001 where he bartended at the Scottsbluff Country Club and was a manager at Backaracks Bar and Grill for several years.

Family and friends were the two most important things to him.  He spent the last year taking care of his dad and spending time with his family.  Marcelino enjoyed family cookouts, going to his nephews’ and nieces’ sporting events and school activities, taking care of his dogs, and helping with outside work in his free time.  Marcelino was always willing to help others with a smile on his face.

He is survived by his dad, Marcelino Hernandez Sr.; sister, Rosemarie Canseco; and his many nieces and nephews.

Marcelino was preceded in death by his loving mom, Linda; his nephews, Joey Canseco and Robert Canseco Jr.; and his brother-in-law, Fernando Canseco.
