Mario Palomo, 76, of Torrington, Wyoming, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023, at Chuck Wagon Church in Scottbluff. Guests are invited to bring a side dish to share for the meal following the service. Mario was born September 12, 1946, in Alamo, Texas to Catarino and Sista (De La Rosa) Palomo. He attended school in Donna, Texas.
Mario made a living working as a skilled mechanic and machinist the majority of his life. He was constantly fixing things or tinkering on a project until ill health limited his physical abilities.
He enjoyed camping, scenic road trips to south Texas, and working on cars. Mario was a proud father and grandfather, spending time with his family every opportunity he could. He was a jokester and liked making people smile. He will always be lovingly remembered.
Survivors include his beloved companion of 31 years, Ruth Holland; children, Mario Palomo Jr, Martin Palomo, Mark Palomo, and Jessica Palomo; eight grandchildren; six great grandchildren; and siblings, Florentino Palomo, Arturo Palomo, Frances Trevino, Lucy Trevino, Rachel Hasette, Alfredo Palomo, Delia Garcia, Mary Billie, Alberto Palomo, Jane Brewer, and Alfredo Palomo.
Mario was preceded in death by his parents, Sista De La Rosa Palomo and Catarino Palomo; brother, Aventura Palomo; and daughter, Rachel Marie Escamilla.
