Michael Lehl

August 28, 1991 — March 5, 2023

Michael J. Lehl, 31, of Denver, formerly of Scottsbluff, passed away Sunday, March 5, 2023, at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff. A celebration of Michael’s life will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, March 11, 2023, at the Trails West YMCA Retreat Center in Scottsbluff. Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to Michael’s family at https://gofund.me/9a059a44 and will be designated at a later date. Michael was welcomed into the world on August 28, 1991, along with his twin sister, Megan, to parents, Mick and Lynne (Behnke) Lehl. He attended Scottsbluff Public Schools, graduating with the class of 2010.

He had an early interest in skateboarding and cycling.  Michael worked at Sonny’s Bike Shop before moving to Denver in 2010. He enrolled at Red Rocks Community College in Colorado where he took computer information classes for some time. Michael was very gifted with computers and enjoyed gaming. He embraced the Colorado life and enjoyed attending concerts especially at Red Rocks, mountain biking, hiking, and skiing. Michael had an electric, positive personality that was loved by all who knew him. He was very generous in any way he was able. He was excited and proud to be an uncle to his niece, Millie.

He began working in the restaurant industry where he thrived with his likeable, hospitable personality, quick wit, and ability to make anyone smile.  Michael met countless customers who also became good friends.

Survivors include his father, Mick of Gering; sister, Megan (Chris Boggs) Lehl of New Zealand; niece, Millie Boggs of New Zealand; uncle, Rick (Starr) Lehl of Minatare; his beloved dog, Charlie; along with cousins and other extended family members.

Michael was preceded in death by his mother, Lynne Lehl; paternal grandparents, John and Helen Lehl; and maternal grandparents, Curly and Ann Behnke.
