Ramon “Mony” Rodriguez Jr., age 63, of Scottsbluff, Nebraska passed away from natural causes on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, in Scottsbluff. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 15, 2024, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Scottsbluff with Fr. Joseph Thambi as Celebrant. A Rosary will be recited beginning at 10 a.m. at the church. Inurnment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Scottsbluff. The service will be live-streamed and recorded to Mony’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.
Ramon was born December 2, 1960, in Scottsbluff, to Ramon and Agnes “Natcha” (Ramirez) Rodriguez.
He was primarily self-employed over the years as a contractor for various construction projects.
Mony was an avid sports fan and participated in baseball, softball and wrestling as a youth. He was a strong advocate for social justice issues as they affected the Scottsbluff barrio. He had a lovable reputation as a “charmer”. Mony was a longtime member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church.
Survivors include his brothers, Tim, Tommy (Dawn) and Greg Rodriguez; sisters, Deborah (Cale) Margheim and Sally (Mike) Miranda; daughter, Martina Camacho; four grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; as well as nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Ramon was preceded in death by his father, Ramon; mother, Natcha; and son, Travis Iron-Shell.
