Rayanna Widger

October 3, 1946 — September 27, 2021

Rayanna Lee Widger, 74, of Lyman, passed away on September 27, 2021 at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.  Cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time.  Memorials may be made in care of the family.

Rayanna was born on October 3, 1946 in Corpus Christi, Texas to Betty (Uehlinger) Butler and Robert Kelley. She was named after her grandparents, Raymond and Anna (Feaster) Uehlinger, who raised her.

Rayanna met the love of her life, Charles “Monty” Widger, in 1961 at the Greeley Stampede. The two dated for one year and got married on August 3, 1962. The wedding was at the Estes Park RoofTop Rodeo, with the ceremony performed while the two were riding horseback. The couple moved to the Torrington area after they were married and started a family.

Rayanna’s number one priority was her family. Her time was spent with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids doing the things they loved like racing motocross on the weekends, watching sports, and volunteering at the Lyman Public Library. She spent a lot of time caring for all of the young kids of the family, especially her ‘Precious’.  Her family's Deadwood trips will always be a special memory for her family.

Rayanna never missed a Broncos football game, no matter how the season was going. She also loved watching the Husker volleyball team dominate on the court. You could always count on her to give you a recap of a game or just talk about football and what the teams could do better or what they were doing wrong.

Survivors include her loving husband, Charles “Monty” Widger; children, Leanna Sinner (Bobby Hill), Monty (Tanya) Widger, Marty (Lori) Widger, Billi (Joey) Ewing, and Rhonda Widger (Gilbert Carrizales); fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sisters, Peggi Kelley-Slane and Lori Kelley-Hannis; step sister, Donna (Joey) Black; brother, Daniel Kelley; and loving canine companion, Apolo.

Rayanna was preceded in death by her mother, Betty (Poole) Butler; father, Robert Kelley; grandmother, Anna (Arthur) Bardwell; grandfather, Raymond Uehlinger; sister, Joan Kelley; father-in-law, William Widger; sister-in-law, Carol Willison; and aunt, Elva (Albert) Adams.
