Raymond Cox

Raymond L. Cox, 70, of Gering, died Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at his home.  Cremation has taken place in accordance with his wishes and there will be no services.  Memorials in Raymond’s honor may be directed to Gering United Methodist Church.

Raymond was born January 24, 1951 in Oakdale, Louisiana to James and LaVerne (McDaniel) Cox.  He graduated from Gering High School and then attended Western Nebraska Community College.  Raymond worked as an electrician for 35 years, specializing in telecommunications.

He enjoyed gardening, fishing, traveling and reading.  Raymond loved all sports and was an avid New York Yankees and Nebraska Huskers fan.  He was a member of Gering United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his mother, LaVerne Cox of Rayville, Louisiana; daughter, Krystal Hamilton of Mansfield, Ohio; son, Kristopher "Cody" Cox of Gering; grandchildren, Lilli Ann “Scout” Cox of Gering, Harrison and Annalise Hamilton of Mansfield, Ohio; brother, Scott Cox of Loveland, Colorado; sister, Valerie Cox of Gering; best friend, Charlie Klutts of Gering; as well as other extended family members and friends.

Raymond was preceded in death by his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilburn McDaniel and Mr. and Mrs. Merle Cox; father, James R. Cox; and brother, Kenneth J. Cox.
