Services for Rev. James Virgil Holm, 91, of Huntingdon, TN., will be conducted on Thursday, May 5, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. at the First Church of God, 2122 Avenue F, Scottsbluff, NE with his son, Rev. Michael Holm (Gina) officiating.
Rev. Holm went to be with his Lord on Wednesday, January 12, 2022. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Lynn Holm; sons, Kevin Holm of Pinellas Park, FL. and Rev. Michael Holm, of Dade City, FL; stepsons, Matthew Campbell and James Campbell; sister, Virginia Acheson of Loveland, CO; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
James received his early education in Bayard, NE, where he excelled in basketball and other sports. He graduated with the class of 1948. Jim was an avid golfer and played softball into his senior years. He was next to the youngest of ten children.
James attended Anderson College where he studied the ministry. He served as Associate Pastor in Sand Springs, OK, and Pastor in Danville, IL, Cape Girardeau, MO, and St. Petersburg, FL. He also conducted services in the morning in a senior community in Largo, FL, where he lived, and then in the evening at a senior community of Canadians in Pinellas Park, FL. Jim and Sandy left Florida and then went to Greeley, CO where he was Pastor at the Church of God before retiring. He was also a manager of the La-Z-Boy stores in Largo and Palm Harbor, FL.
He was preceded in death by his youngest son, Jeffrey Scott Holm, who passed away on May 8, 2021. Scott's ashes will be inurned with his father. His parents; two brothers, Kenneth Holm and Rev. Carl Holm; six sisters, Mildred Winkler, Dorothy Case, Edith Daniels, Elsie Carlson, Alice Henderson, and Eva June Shipman; and cousin, Peggy Ann Fullerton also preceded him in death.
