Sara Susan (Reinhardt) Taborsky, age 69, passed away surrounded by her family on Monday, April 8, 2024, after a short, but courageous battle with cancer. Sara was born in Kearney, Nebraska on January 7, 1955, to Lewis and Betty (Lysinger) Reinhardt. Her family moved to Scottsbluff in 1959. Sara attended Victory Hill School and then advanced to Scottsbluff High School, graduating with the class of 1973. She went on to attend the University of Nebraska at Lincoln where she was a member of Pi Beta Pi Sorority and was named The Sweetheart of Sigma Chi.

The mountains called Sara to Summit County, Colorado. It was there she met and married Michael “Tbyrd” Taborsky. During her lifetime in Colorado, Sara did everything from driving a shuttle bus for Keystone Mountain, to working at the Snake River Saloon, and most recently, working at the Recreation Center in Silverthorne, Colorado.

Sara was a passionate skier and always had a seasonal ski pass. Hiking and golfing with Tbyrd and her many wonderful, lifelong friends were also some of her enjoyments. Sara was an avid Bronco and Husker fan. Her support was unwavering, and no matter how bad their season records were, she never gave up on them.

Sara's loving personality and kindness to others fostered a life full of loving friends. Throughout the last three months of her life, she received an abundance of cards, letters, and gifts. Sara and her family were so appreciative of the outpouring of love.

Survivors include her siblings, Becky (John) Sorensen, Ann (John) Selzer, Lisa (Bob) Cerise, and Jim (Helen) Reinhardt; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Karel Taborsky, Catherine Roark and Lane (Beverly) Taborsky; nieces and nephews, Emily, Jenny, Megan, Jane, Johnny, Lewis, Becky, Hannah, Maya, Jillian, Maxwell and Noah. Sara made frequent visits to Scottsbluff where she spent countless hours of quality time with her beloved great-nieces and great-nephews, Max, Avery, Riley, Johnny, Monroe, Sawyer, Anna, Nate, Elliot, Charlie, Sam, Isaiah, Miles, Luke, Hallie, Ray, Shayla, Kaia, Cal, Hank, and Jackie. She is also survived by countless dear friends, most notably Alicia Dunn and Becky Margolis, who traveled to Scottsbluff to help care for and love Sara in the final days of her life.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Lewis and Betty; husband, Tbyrd; and her parents-in-law.
