Toni Lee Desjardin

It was on Monday, February 5, 2024, that we lost an amazing mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt, when Toni Lee Desjardin age 69 died unexpectedly after complications from a heart attack at Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. Cremation has taken place in accordance with her wishes and a memorial service will be held at a later date in her hometown of Livingston, Montana. Toni was born May 14, 1954, in Livingston, Montana to James and Charline (Dunlap) Adkins. She graduated from Livingston High School.

Toni married Don Desjardin on November 11, 1972. She became the proud mother of four children, Teri, Tammy, David, and Brittany. Toni and Don later divorced in 1994.

Toni was a hardworking homemaker and provider for her family. She made a career as a casino manager, a job she greatly enjoyed. She was a natural caregiver and put others first. This special “motherly” quality of always taking care of others before herself was admired by her employees, customers, and family members. Toni genuinely cared about people, and this was proven by her involvement and interest in whatever projects and activities the people in her life were doing.

Her free time was filled with outdoor activities, gambling, BINGO, and playing cards with friends and family. Toni was an active bowler for many years as well, participating in several leagues. She could also be found relaxing at home watching football, her favorite game shows, or the ID channel with a cold beverage in hand. 

Toni was a loving and devout Christian woman. Her relationship with God was very important to her and was something she shared with everyone around her.

Survivors include her children, Teri (Matt) Mollman of Gering, Tammy Desjardin of Scottsbluff, David (Amie) Desjardin of Helena, MT, and Brittany Desjardin of Scottsbluff; grandchildren, Alyssa (Dylan) Walker, Alexa Osborn, Gavin Osborn, Noah Desjardin, Lincoln Desjardin, and Greyson Desjardin; great-grandchildren, Savannah and Kennedy Walker, and Isaiah and Landry Miller; sisters, Gail Juhnke, Bonnie Hudechek, Anita Hunter, Tamara Dodd, Kimberly Stark, Sophia Yorgason, and Shanon Everton; along with extended relatives and friends.

Toni was preceded in death by her parents, James and Charline; her stepparents; brothers, Tom Hanks, Roy Hanks, and Michael Adkins; and sister, Pamala Adkins. 

We would like to thank the staff at Regional West Medical Center, Valley Ambulance Services, and Gering Fire Department for the exceptional care they provided.
