Victor M. Plasencio

November 9, 1941 — September 2, 2022

Victor M. Plasencio, 80, of Torrington, Wyoming, died Friday, September 2, 2022, at his home surrounded by his family.  A memorial service will be held at 6 p.m., Friday, September 9, 2022, at Reverence Funeral Parlor in Scottsbluff, Nebraska with Pastor Dave Luna officiating. A private family viewing will be held prior to the service and cremation will take place.  The service will be livestreamed to Victor’s obituary page viewable at www.reverencefuneralparlor.com.  Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the family.

Victor was born November 9, 1941, in Eden, Texas to Febronio and Guadalupe (Martinez) Plasencio.  He enjoyed boxing in his teenage years.

Victor met and married Gloria Jimenez.  Victor worked hard providing for their growing family.  He primarily farmed and provided agriculture-related services.  He and his family resided in California for about ten years and during that time he owned and operated a mechanic shop.  Victor was also employed at Western Sugar for some time.

He was a talented gardener. Victor grew a bountiful harvest every summer until this year when his ill-health prevented him from doing so.  He would give away nearly all of the produce to friends, family, and anyone in need throughout the Wyobraska area.  He was very considerate and giving to others.  Victor was firm when necessary, but everything was done out of love.

Survivors include his siblings, Ysabel Plasencio, Febronio Plasencio Jr., Belen (David) Luna, and Virginia (Joe) Salazar; children, Virginia Plasencio, Victoria Plasencio, Patrick Plasencio, Velma Perez, Victor Mark Plasencio, Veronica Plasencio, Vera May Plasencio, Lupe Plasencio, and Valerie Plasencio; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; his beloved dog, Copper; and countless nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Victor was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Gloria in 2018; two sons, both named Victor M. Plasencio Jr.; and siblings, Frank Plasencio Sr., Steven Plasencio, Ezekiel Plasencio, Felicitas “Lily” Blanco, Catharine Garcia, and Mary Rodriguez.
